Introduction

The SMSF Academy is an online self-managed super fund resource that helps trustees and their advisors to build retirement savings with accredited education, strategies and practical tools.

The SMSF Academy was launched in May 2011 and has attracted a significant amount of interest through direct traffic (i.e. Google), and via financial services media including the Australian Financial Review (AFR), Professional Planner, Money Management, Financial Standard, SMSF magazine, Investor Daily and Super Review.  The SMSF Academy is experiencing strong monthly growth in visits, unique visits, and page views.  Most importantly, the average time spent on the website per visitor is currently in excess of 3 minutes.

The SMSF Academy also generates a significant amount of activity through ‘thedunnthing’ blog, which was established in October 2009 by Aaron Dunn.  The blog is now recognised as one of Australia’s leading resources for SMSF trustees and professionals to obtain information regarding self-managed super funds (see Diagram 2: Website statistics below).  Aaron’s blog now attracts between 5,000 – 6,000 visits (page views and average time on site unknown) with traffic also growing monthly.
